Re: Few Peers connected
well you could try this 1) stop the transmission-daemon 2) then in your config file "settings.json" turn OFF the automatic port forwarding stuff: "port-forwarding-enabled": false, 3) assign a static ip to your DNS if you haven't already done so: http://www.alanchard.com/dlink323/...

Re: Umask setting not working
does the user "transmission-daemon" have ownership of the download-dir specified in your settings.json? i run the transmission-daemon as regular user and my download directory is in my home directory. as a test when i changed umask to 0 my torrent directories were created with 777 permissi...

yes it happens to me also starting with 1.92 and up in Linux. there's about a half-dozen threads about this odd behavior here in the forums over the last few months, e.g., "Always slows down when nearly done": https://forum.transmissionbt.com/viewtopic.php?p=45964 i noticed the slowdown is...

Re: At start up all trackers don't respond
Hi all, I'm running transmission-daemon 1.93 on Ubuntu Server 10.04. It was installed and updated (from 1.92) via apt-get. Every time I turn on the server, transmission-daemon starts automatically (standard installation). ... That's odd because i just now took a look at.. http://packages.ubuntu.com...

Re: Transmission 2.01 Released!
i currently have Transmission 2.01+ (10899) running on a torrent with a very unfavorable seed/peer ratio (5/200) and it's doing very well -- both up and down. one big improvement i noticed with the 2* versions is that Transmission is making much better decisions on which peers to connect with. looki...

Re: Slow download speeds in 2.00.
so far i'm not seeing slower speeds with 2.00. just ran a couple tests on a well-seeded torrent comparing Transmission 2.00 with rTorrent 0.8.6 and both gave comparable speeds: Transmission 2.00 Download Time: 12mn 10sec rTorrent 0.8.6 Download Time: 11mn 39sec i used same torrent with file size 175...

Re: Transmission 2.00 Released!
Hmmm this is strange. Was running super fine for ages, then the torrents sits there with 250 peers at 99.9% but doesnt seem to be able to get that last .1%. its been sitting here like this for about an hour now and just wont finish the torrents. Was running fine when using 2.0b1 not sure what chang...

Re: Transmission 2.00b1 Released!
just bumped up to Transmission 2.00b2 (10722) and it looks fine so far running a couple torrent tests.
one difference i noticed from 2.00b1 is the faster file verification time -- that helped a lot as it used to be so painfully slow.

Re: Adding stopped torrent from command line
this feature is implemented in Transmission 2.00b1 (10680) .. in settings.json just edit line to: "start-added-torrents": false, and when using "transmission-remote -a file.torrent" the torrent is added in Stopped state. anyway i've already used this many times and it works as ad...

Re: Transmission 2.00b1 Released!
have 2.00b1 installed in Linux and ran a couple torrents and all looks good so far.
i do like the start-added-torrents option (on/off) in transmission-remote .. man i really missed having that in earlier versions.
so thanks

Transmission 1.93 - Massive Slowdown Near End of DL
OS: Linux Debian Transmission 1.93 Something is wrong with recent versions that I didn't notice in previous releases. Even on well seeded torrents with seed/peer ratios over 10, near end Transmission always seems to choke and sputter at the 99.xx% mark. My DLs go from a consistent 330 KB/s down to 1...
