Re: Settings for local LAN only distribution
Its not normal, but the problem is not apparent from your description. Could be one of many things, not Transmission, but external factors (firewall, network interface if you have more than one, "Internet security/protection/whatever" of the sort used on Windows machines, ...) LPD works by...

Re: Settings for local LAN only distribution
I said "you don't need a tracker"... which means: You enable LPD (Local Peer Discovery) everywhere (i.e. seeder & leechers). You don't put a tracker in your .torrent file (or magnet). But if you really want to use a tracker, start by saying what kind of tracker: your own, public, priva...

Re: Settings for local LAN only distribution
- Disable uTP.
- Enable LPD everywhere (you don't need a tracker).
- Use latest version of Transmission.
- Don't expect top speed

Re: Clean up script moves files but leaves empty folders beh
I'm just trying to figure out whether what I'm seeing (left over empty directories) is expected behavior from Transmission No, but it happens if something extra was added to the directory... which is normal if you have (multi-media) "indexing" which creates Thumbs.db, @eaDir, or any other...

Re: transmission-daemon updated now settings file not loadin
Not true.andrei wrote:the settings file is only read at startup
You can tell the (running) daemon to reload its settings with a HUP signal.
Next time read the documentation. Granted that this should also be in the man page, and its not.

Re: Moving Files
Best option: move the file(s) using Transmission. transmission-remote -t <torrent-id or hash-code> --move <destination path> 2nd best: tell Transmission the change of location. Don't expect 100% success rate, Transmission may detect the error before you tell about the change. transmission-remote -t ...

Re: Understanding priorities
I don't know, I didn't test if file priority does work (or even how does it work... priority as global priority, or just like you say, priority over the files on one torrent? ... since a torrent could have only one file, my guess is that it works as global priority). I did test torrent priority and ...

Re: Transmission in NAS Firmware Won't Do Private Trackers
I can't see any way to configure for private trackers There's nothing special in the configuration for private trackers... and nothing is needed. how to get it to log onto private trackers? The client doesn't have to log onto private trackers, the URL link you get (from the private tracker's Web si...

Re: Help with Post-Processing Script - Move based on tracker
The simplified script can be reduced further, the second if is not really needed (3 lines can be deleted). I've made the changes above. Should I be worried about my corrupted memory? Yes, but its not "corrupted memory", the problem seems to be that the program bash is corrupting the memory...

Re: Help with Post-Processing Script - Move based on tracker
Bad news: the script works fine as is. That means you have a problem with bash, from the looks of it is a very bad, dangerous, problem: looks like memory corruption. Good news: the original script was good for moving all torrents that belong to a tracker, since you probably only want to use this wit...

Re: Help with Post-Processing Script - Move based on tracker
The only difference is that I removed the unneeded back slashes.
That was not creating the weirdness. I'll have to start actually running what I wrote, I'll report back if/when I find the problem.

Re: Help with Post-Processing Script - Move based on tracker
Actually a lot of quoting I did is not needed, it was for the original script which had a lot of $(...) so I quoted things inside the parenthesis, but those were not needed and I changed them... so I'll change again the script on comment #2.

Re: Help with Post-Processing Script - Move based on tracker
Could I be stating the tracker name wrong? Perhaps try cycling torrents.nl? There's nothing wrong with that, I would prefer the later form, just because its shorter. There's something wrong with the script, I thought is was related to the extra asterisk, but your latest output shows it again: the l...

Re: Help with Post-Processing Script - Move based on tracker
Torrents with error (those with an asterisk after the ID) will prevent the script from working... Since the script didn't found a single match, lets fix that changing the following line: IDLIST="$($REMOTE -l | tail -n +2 | grep 100% | grep -v Stopped | awk '{ printf "%d\n",$1; }')&quo...

Re: Help with Post-Processing Script - Move based on tracker
JeanVW14 : Quoting the dot is harmless, and not needed. I don't understand your comment about "($TRACKER)"... did you change anything? (because there is no $TRACKER between parenthesis, its between quoted quotes (and that's the way it should be, not the original single quotes, which was a...
