Transmission + Ubuntu - ports closed

Post by prankstare »

I've been using Transmission v2.82 with Ubuntu and every port I try to open by port forwarding on my router does not seem to work.

Strange thing is I've been testing those same ports on websites such as http://canyouseeme.org / http://yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ and both say ports are open.

Could it be some kind of bug in Transmission software itself? Or maybe ISP doing something to torrent traffic?

All test results say "Stealth". Does that mean it could be a software bug? Download speeds are still shit compared to when the client reported open.

Could it be that I'm behind a double-NAT or something? If this is the case, then how can I bypass it?

I have tried updating Transmission client to v2.84 but still not working. Have also tried a fresh installment of both the OS and the client itself but to no avail.

Not using a VPN.

ISP blocking? Could be! But if it is my ISP blocking, then how come http://canyouseem.org/ reports Transmission ports as open while using it?

I'm kind of running out of ideas. Did some research about it and apparently many Transmission users have the same issue.

Well I'm pretty positive something did happen and it is affecting both download and upload streams.

It was working fine a few days ago!
