HELP: OpenVPN via 2 routers

Post by andwan0 »

I use TransmissionBT daemon on my NAS box.
I have 2 routers, modem router A is internet facing, non-modem router B is VPN and NAS connects to router B.

I signed up to torguard VPN service which provides static IP and static port forwarding. I disabled my portforwards on both router A and B as adviced.

On VPN page, I setup TCP and UDP port forwards, but it asks for VPN port and auth type. I chose 1194 which matches my OpenVPN setup. Though i get an email confirming port forwards and saying its SHA1 on port 1194.
But still cant get port forward to work.
Is there any other setup for transmission?

If you just want to form a “local” network with your roomies despite being connected to different internet routers, you may want to look into a “zero-config” vpn, like Hamachi (commercial) or NeoRouter (free, but requires your own infrastructure).
