Transmission

Hi

I have recently had an account hacked and I'm now changing all of my passwords. I'm using 2.94 on qnap and would like to change my password. I've read that I change the json file but I'm unsure how to access it. Would someone please be able to give me step by step instructions please.

If you installed the transmission from the qnap club store, the settings file should be here:
/opt/QTransmission/etc/settings.json
Just make sure to stop transmission before editing that file. The setting you need to change is rpc-password.

you need to telnet or ssh using admin username/password, then cd to that directory and edit the file. not sure which editor you have installed. I'm using vim which is installed by default but it's not the most newb-friendly editor.

Thanks. I'm not sure whats installed either. This might be beyond my skill set so maybe I'll have to leave it as default. Thank you
