Specific DNS settings

Post by ksec »

Is it possible for Transmission to use specific DNS settings and not the default OS one? ( I think there was clutch which allows using transmission for difference Network interface. But that was discontinued )

If not, does anyone know of a way to achieve something similar.

Reason: Currently using DNS-Based Ad-Network filtering and TransmissionBT alone is generating millions of queries per month.

Most OS' IP stacks don't really support separating DNS. And Transmission itself doesn't have the ability to use a separate DNS (although, this might be an interesting feature to consider).

Most VPN services provide their own DNS servers.

My experience, with PIA, is that the Split Tunnel set-up provides their DNS on the VPN side and leaves my regular DNS alone on the non-VPN side.
