Downloading from each Peer only with 10kb/s

Hello Folks!

I am just loving Transmission, it is my favourite BT-Client. But I have a question because something is weird for me. I forward the Port 51413 and Transmission sais: "Port is open". But still I can download from each Peer only with 10kb/s some faster some slower... sometime one moves up and seeds with 100kb/s but later goes back to a maximum of 10-20kb/s

is this my fault, the peers or transmission?
I use Version 1.42 (7494) on MacOS X 10.5.6

This seems incredibly normal. It's your peers who decide how much data to send you.

yeah most time 10kb/s are high, some active torrents have people who seed 50-300kb/s but most don't
