Windows Compatibility: Possible Solution to Crashing, etc.
I've been using the latest nightly build of Transmission-QT in Win 8.1 to access transmission-daemon in a Buffalo NAS, and have been experiencing problems like the program crashing and magnet links not loading. The problems have not been taking place so far after I set the compatibility mode of the program to Windows 7.

Works fine so far. I forgot to add that besides Windows 7 the program is also run in admin mode.

Seeing actual crash reports and expanding on "not loading" would be nice...

I will paste details for the next crash. The last one happened only a few minutes ago. I notice that it sometimes happens when I click on the same magnet link in a browser more than once. The client reports that it is a duplicate of a file that's already in the queue, then crashes.
For "not loading," I click on a magnet link in a browser, and it sometimes did not show up in the queue. The problem disappears only if I shut down and restart the client or the NAS.

I wonder if updating Qt will help...monkeylove wrote:Faulting module path: D:\Program Files\Transmission\Qt5Core.dll

Hello, thanks for the help. I'm happy to report that for nightly version v2.92+ (c82e7ecb9f) I've experienced no crashes or any of the problems mentioned earlier for the past two weeks. I used the ff. settings under Win 8.1:
- set compatibility mode to Windows 7
- run the program as an administrator

I just found out that in this mode files in the queue sometimes can't be deleted. I've set it back to regular mode.
