Why are there 4000 connections according to my router?

Post by yalag »

I've set the global peer limits to 200 and 60 for each torrent. Why are there 4000 connections according to my router? As soon as I quit transmission the connections drops back to 200-300. Is this a bug?? :x :x

Turning off µTP, brought it down from 4000 to 1600. Is 1600 normal for a 200 global max peers setting?

Sounds like your router has a longer than nessary timeout for connections. Bittorent opens and closes connections rapidly and some do not complete. This can be adjusted on some routers and sometimes in great detail on 3rd party firmware.

Drop your established to 1800 Or 1200

Time wait could go down to 60 but don't go lower.

Give that a shot. Reboot the router to clear the current connections
