Just curious if any Transmission users in Canada are receiving notices from their ISP. I just received yet another notice from Rogers stating that:
"The problem device in your home is infected with a virus. You need to remove the infection to strengthen the security of your information and ensure that only authorized users have access to your network. You can learn more about this issue by clicking here. <https://www.rogers.com/customer/support ... t-scanning>
I have run various virus scans on every Apple device in the house: all clean.
Is there any chance that Rogers is seeing DHT or another feature of Transmission as malicious port scanning?
Rogers in Canada flagging "port scanning"
Re: Rogers in Canada flagging "port scanning"
I answered my own question ultimately. Yes, Rogers is flagging connection to listening ports assigned randomly by Transmission on program startup and ascribing this activity to a port-scanning virus.
