created files as other users

hi,

i'm using transmission 1.42 on my nslu2 unslung 6.10 beta and i have a question about the program.

it looks like transmission creates downloads using a different user as i'like it would be. i can acces the downloaded files on my windows share or ftp only as read only. The files are only rw by the owner, user who creates the torrent, wich i don't know who that is.

To start transmission i have to login telnet as root.

Can i start transmission as other user or can i make all the files created by transmission make for example chmod 777?
