Decentralization and search like Tribler

Post by spoX-mission »

I was wondering if it would be possible for you wonderful programmers to implement the decentralization mumbo-jumbo from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tribler
It's free software, so just look at the code (python). I've used this program, but it doesn't work well with ubuntu. Seems to be mostly written for windows users... annoying.

Not sure exactly what you are referring to but as far as I know there already is enough tools in current bittorrent clients to run them completely decentralized.

There is a different protocol at work in Tribler that is not implemented elsewhere. That makes it more resilient I guess.

You can find the details from links suggested and from official Tribler forums.

Suggestions:

Master Thesis- http://upcommons.upc.edu/pfc/bitstream/ ... emoria.pdf

Swift protocol- http://libswift.org/

Merklehash torrrents- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Libtorrent
