Hi there!
Didn't found very useful in some cases ability to manually add peer (by hand, entering it's IP and port) while downloading.
Just wanted to say that with this ability Transmission will be best Gtk bittorrent client ever for me
Thank you!

Re: Adding peer by hand
I would also like to see this feature in transmission, particularly in transmission-daemon (via web interface or transmission-remote). I have tried this feature in uTorrent and it is really useful sometimes (like when you want to add a local peer, which would significantly speed up the download).

Hi there. Found this via google.
Just thought I would third the motion that this feature would be a great feature to add.
Thanks!

+1 from me on this one!
Re: Adding peer by hand
I have looked after this feature request for 1 year now. I can't belive so small number of people supported it! I realy hate to play roulette while downloading large files from several hosts
Re: Adding peer by hand
What about a list of peers and trackers that always get contacted (forced whitelist) and a list of peers and trackers that never get contacted (blacklist) and are never replied to?

Re: Adding peer by hand
I really like both ideas so far suggested.
bit torrent becomes a really useful recursive file transfer mechanisms once local peers can be always consistently added. I really like having my desktop download (which is faster) while my laptop grabs the file when it needs it just by adding the torrent file.

Re: Adding peer by hand
I agree it would be useful.
It's currently possible in
* libtorrent/rtorrent https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugrepo ... bug=349622
* rutorrent (but not private torrents) http://forums.rutorrent.org/index.php?topic=3236.0
* utorrent with "add peer" dropdown https://forum.utorrent.com/topic/54155- ... as-a-peer/
