Download is aborted immediately after starting - won't restart

Postby citizenx » Mon Feb 13, 2017 10:43 pm

I'm experiencing a recurring issue where I begin to download a torrent and, typically after a few seconds, it will abort - moving the file to the 'paused' list and showing an error icon next to the file. When I try to restart the file, nothing happens. I don't see any dialogue boxes or further explanation as to why this is happening - it just keeps happening. I've tried several different files, I've tried rebooting, and I just updated to the latest OS. In fact, I only started experiencing this after upgrading to Sierra. Could be a coincidence, but I doubt it. Anyone else experiencing this?

Error messages can be found in the 'Activity' window of the Inspector and in the Message Log (Command-3 - debug level).

Due to the upgrade a clean install might help.

#1 Move the following folders/files to your Desktop for later disposal.

~/Library/Application Support/Transmission (.torrent files can be found here and can be re-added to Transmission. Use "File-->Move Data File To..." (enclosing folder) and "Transfers-->Verify Local Data" as necessary.)
~/Library/Preferences/org.m0k.transmission.LSSharedFileList.plist
~/Library/Preferences/org.m0k.transmission.plist (re-do Preferences after installation)
~/Library/Caches/org.m0k.transmission

"~" = your home folder.
