Transmission is awesome

Post by JJans »

Having installed Lion a few days ago, I was looking into an alternative for Vuze, which I'd been using for years. However, I felt that Vuze had become to complex and resource consuming. So when I started looking into Utorrent, I read about Transmission and I'm very satisfied with the simplicity of the interface. Obviously, there's still a number of things that I'd like to see added such as automatic updating of all blocklists, but Transmission being freeware, I think you guys have done a marvelous job.

Just curious though... when you right click on the Transmission icon, you get to see torrent files of torrents you previously downloaded. Can these be removed as the actual torrent files have already been removed.

Thanks!

The list of previously opened files can be cleared in clearing Files -> Open Recent File. The next version won't have this issue (or the menu, for that matter).

Hi,

I also have the same issue, I have cleared the --->Open recent list.
And yet when I right click on the transmission icon the list of previous downloads still appears.

Any other ideas?

That should clear it. It might be an OS issue...

I am having the same issue, and would love a solution. Torrents I downloaded some time back (prior to more recent torrents) appear on the list when i right-click on transmission on the dock. That same list also appears when I activate the "application windows" scene in Lion. Application windows is that new thing that's kind of like "mission control" but specific to the application you're currently on.

I have a feeling the previous poster is right about it being an OS issue, because the exact same issue is occurring with VLC. It doesn't make any sense. I have always been annoyed by the "recent" menus in any program, and it seems bizarre that I am having this happen on OSX.

I've googled both topics to death, so I'm asking fresh eyes and ears, assuming this isn't a transmission software problem. :|
