Transmission all of a sudden not working

Hello. I have been using Transmission for a couple of years (thank you). Starting last night, when I loaded a torrent, the torrent loaded but would not start to download. I have tried numerous torrents of size and style. I have uninstalled and reinstalled. I have even downloaded Vuze which works btw, but I like transmission and don't want to go to vuze. I am running El Capitan 10.11.2 and Transmission 2.84. is anyone else having these issues? Nothing on my system has changed in 24 hrs so I don't understand why the torrents all of a sudden won't DL on TR but will on another torrent DL. Thanks
