How do I search?!

I am a brand new torrent user. I have never used any kind of torrent before and I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to search. Can someone please give me step-by-step instructions? Maybe with pictures if you're feeling nice?

I have a Macbook Pro OX S El Captain and I would like to download music and some photo editing files.
