Re: Cant get port to open
I've determined my problem lies with Leopard itself. I tried many different apps and none of them go over 15k/s yet when i boot into windows i am downloading at over 200k/s consistently. Thanks for the input though.

Yes, I do agree. Azureus (Vuze) has always been trouble, but I had no choice asMcFly3 wrote:I can't use Azureus or Vuze. They crash MAC OSX all the time.
I'll stick with Transmission and I recommend you do too.
today I needed to get a file quickly.

I found a friend who was still running Transmission 1.11, so I just reinstalled that and everything
is now fine and dandy ! Obviously, there IS some major issue with 1.40 and it will
surely get resolved in the fullness of time, but I shall stick with the older, working
version until then.

I agree with previous posters - Transmission rules, and is easily the most workable and
informative GUI of any BT client for Mac. Pity about this latest f**k-up.

Mysteriously, my listening port is now open. I've changed nothing. Weird.storm wrote:Same here. I've switched back to Transmission, and can't get the listening port to open.

Same boat here.
OSX 10.5.6, Transmission 1.50b1, Airport Extreme (older dome style)
Forwarded port 51413, transmission reports that the port is closed.
One weird thing I noticed - if I try to telnet the port from outside my network it just hangs on connect. If I try a port that I know isn't open, it refuses the connection instantly.
