This is the latest (3 hrs ago) nightly build. (1.42+ 7520) I have tried at least 20 different versions now... It crashes after a really long time so its REALLY annoying to test! I haven't been able to see it happen because I always stay there till it seems like its working then I come back in 5 minutes or so... and its quit.

I have no other pertinent information, sorry :( Can someone help me?

What operating system are you running? This only happens with nightly builds?

10.5.2
It happens with every version I can find... I tried the very oldest nightly (1.40), a bunch of random nightlies, the latest nightly (from like 4 hours ago) and I also tried 1.40, 1.41, and 1.42 Release versions

The issue appears to be with NAVCMPlugIn.

I'm really bad at expert stuff.. Is that a problem I can fix or is there something you are gonna change with Transmission?

That has nothing to do with Transmission. It looks to be a context menu some app installed.

Why is Transmission trying to load it though? I don't want it to crash anymore, so what can I do? It didn't use to crash before I upgraded from 1.3x...

I don't know, this plugin is doing something to crash Transmission. Consult the creators of the plugin.

The reason it start to crash now could be os x updates, or a update of the plug-in, this plug-in is from norton antivirus.
searching the web will show there are people that have experienced problems with norton after updates to OS X.

One solution could be to uninstall norton from your computer.
You could also try to remove the plug-in but that might break norton, my guess is that the plug-in is located here:

I uninstalled NAV, and now Transmission just quits on me with no error code besides this:
Feb 22 00:08:16 SpiffyMac com.apple.launchd[193] ([0x0-0xbe0be].org.m0k.transmission[2167]): Exited with exit code: 1

I have no idea what to do.

Here's another one... dunno if this helps.

Mine has nothing to do with NAVCMPlugInFactory, but I am getting a similar error. It usually happens to me after a long time of running. No crash reporter pops up asking me to send the error somewhere. I am using OS X 10.5.6 with Transmission 1.51. In Console.app I only get this one error message every time it crashes:

Code: Select all

3/17/09 10:26:51 PM com.apple.launchd[159] ([0x0-0x181181].org.m0k.transmission[3989]) Exited with exit code: 1
I have found that when I am downloading many torrents at once it seems to crash faster (in a few seconds) than when only downloading one torrent (hours). This has been happening to me for many previous versions of Transmission as well. I will be trying some nightly builds now and will re-post with results.

Code: Select all

3/17/09 11:15:47 PM com.apple.launchd[159] ([0x0-0x193193].org.m0k.transmission[4173]) Exited with exit code: 1
Same error. This is using the nightly build r8073.
