it is insanely fast! and connects to a hell of a lot more peers....
99 of 102 peers within around 5 seconds!!!!
totally maxed out my bandwith.
however my global limit for new torrents is set to 60 max connections.

I get something similar in 7856: although it does NOT max out my connections, (29 of 200), the number of connected peers is higher than the maximum I have set now (120). Also, the vast majority of them are from PEX (176 out of 200) and only the remaining few are from the tracker.
Well, at least I think that is what's happening. On previous builds (can't remember number, but it was the latest one 72 hours ago) Transmission would connect to a number of peers that was very close to the limit - sometimes 3 less, sometimes 1 or 2 more...
EDIT: and it **might** have something to do with changes made in 7858/9 in order to add the ability to change max peers per torrent via transmission-remote (http://trac.transmissionbt.com/ticket/1392)
