Never seen this error before and am getting it on all torrents, even after a re-boot. I'm using Transmission 1.50+ (7892) and OSX (Leopard) 10.5.6.

If anyone else get this error, it seems to be related to Firefox, not Transmission. I used Safari to dowload the same torrents and then opened and downloaded them in Transmission just fine.

seems like firefox has not completely downloaded your .torrent files, try to download the same file in FF and in Safari and look at how many KB's those two are
