Port is (always) closed

Post by biotope »

Hi guys, I have a problem with the latest v1.5.

The peer listening port is always closed (red light) even though its been forwarded properly. Tried using the same port in uTorrent no problems (green light)

Looking through my firewall log, seems like connection is ok

Feb 18 22:56:49 imac Firewall[48]: Allow Transmission connecting from 82.169.xxx.xxx:23338 uid = 0 proto=6
Feb 18 22:56:49 imac Firewall[48]: Allow Transmission connecting from 92.236.xxx.xxx:60366 uid = 0 proto=6
Feb 18 22:56:50 imac Firewall[48]: Allow Transmission connecting from 124.180.xxx.xxx:61441 uid = 0 proto=6
Feb 18 22:56:54 imac Firewall[48]: Allow Transmission connecting from 24.167.xx.xxx:34738 uid = 0 proto=6
Feb 18 22:56:56 imac Firewall[48]: Allow Transmission connecting from 85.105.xx.xxx:4391 uid = 0 proto=6

and when I check through canyouseeme.org and its ok too

Success: I can see your service on 116.14.xxx.xxx on port (55666)
Your ISP is not blocking port 55666

Any ideas why it shows port closed?

I've never gotten the port open.

I got one torrent to work. I even seeded to a 1.92 ratio, though the software was running for about 15 minutes before any data started to flow.

Right now, the app has been running for over 40 minutes and not a byte has been transferred. Could it be something to do with this being a more picky tracker which shuts off PEX on all torrents? I'm rusty on this junk.

I had this too, when i was using utorrent and transmission paralell (not the same time) on the same port. Sometime transmission, sometime uT saw the port to be closed. Then used different ports for different clients and was ok, but no idea why this happens.

No change with 1.5.2.

Cannot get the port to read as open though both DSL router and OS X Firewall are set correctly.
