[BUG]peer limit for new transfers not acting correct

My global peer limit is 1000 and my peer limit for new tranfers is 100
however when I download a torrent with much peers they connect to more then 100 peers (mostly around 130) If it are 5 extra connections I wouldn't care but 30 is a bit strange, isn't it?
I am using Tiger (10.4.11) and Transmission 1.51 (7958) [so no nightly]
If you need any more info tell me and I'll search it ;)

I noticed that behavior too.
Transmission not really ignores the "Maximum connections"-setting but 56 connected peers are 6 peers more than the allowed 50.

well I don't look at the max connections, but the torrent connections are way off

When TM finished downloading a torrent I cut the max connections in the inspector fpr this particular torrent from 175 (which is default) down to 50.
Forget to explain in my first post.

I've noticed this as well in 1.51 on 10.5.6. I have set the per-torrent limit at 60 peers and it often connects to between 60 and 70 peers. See screenshots below.
