Is there any chance that the allocation routine could be threaded separately, and/or have an option to pre-allocate the files before starting the torrent, using the tempered access method used for verifying files?

Whenever Transmission allocates a large file, the client freezes for the duration of the allocation, shutting down all the transfers for the duration of this allocation. (Network traffic drops to nearly zero) Not a new problem, I just felt like complaining about it now.
Is there any chance that the allocation routine could be threaded separately, and/or have an option to pre-allocate the files before starting the torrent, using the tempered access method used for verifying files?
