Transmission is the hands down the best client for mac. I have been in constant frustration since I had to move to other clients for Socks5 support. I hear it over and over again on message boards, from friends, and co-workers. We all want the protection of using a proxy without the goliath sized, bug filled mess of other bittorrent clients. I love the small, streamlined, functionality of Transmission and I don't think adding a practical proxy menu will jeopardise that. I will tell you that you will get a whole lot of old fans back.

Yeah, not going to happen unfortunately. I've been stuck with version 2.11 for a long time now, but I've just switched to uTorrent, which supports proxy, as do most bitTorrent clients. I agree that Transmission is a better program, but what are you going to do? Proxy is a must-have feature, so it's time to move on.
Still, I'd love to know why they did this. To my knowledge, no explanation for their bizarre decision has ever been offered. Strange.
