Dock Icon Bitrate - Reverse Order?

Post by SomeoneOrOther »

Maybe it's just me, but when I look at this...

Image

...intuitively, I think: "2.9 KB/s UP, and 65.4 KB/s DOWN"...because the number at top, to me, means "UP", and the bottom number means "DOWN".

But, that doesn't appear to be the case with Transmission's dock icon (it's the reverse: 2.9 represents Download speed, and 65.4 represents Upload speed).

Will the devs reverse the order of the numbers at any point in time? Surely, I can't be the only one to have spoken about this?

I honestly think download speeds are more important than upload speeds therefore needs to be up. Uploading is something in the background for me, something that is always going on and on (and here always at 30KB/s).

Maybe when I say "intuitively", what I mean is having gotten used to iStat Menu's way of showing upload as the top number, and download as the bottom number. Then when I look at Transmission in the dock, I have to think "opposite".

Oh well, no big deal I guess.

I agree it should be reverse than how it is

But I'm sure the dev's have bigger fish to fry, and this is a very small fish..
