delete files behavior

Post by cryptozoologist »

hi all,
i have been using transmission for a while now and it is great (ubuntu 9.04 typical gnome desktop). the other day i came home and the torrents i had started in the morning were unfinished and stopped. i tried to restart them and transmission reported that the hard disk was full. this was puzzling but i poked around and discovered that my trash was full. after what was way more complicated than it needed to be i emptied my trash and solved the problem.

i was puzzled about my trash being full because i usually shift delete stuff so it doesn't go into the trash but is permanently deleted. the culprit turned out to be transmission. when i select 'delete files and remove torrent' apparently transmission places them in the trash. this is likely the designer's desired behavior but i was thinking that perhaps transmission could prompt the user, or maybe it could be a preference. thanks!
