I installed transmission on a Centos 5 server and it works like a charm with the web ui, however I can't seem to get it to download to another directory.
I have it set on "/var/lib/transmission/Downloads" right now and it works just fine. So I thought that the same owner/permissions would work on any directory. No, it doesn't.
It's transmission:transmission for owner:group and 777 for permissions, so that's what I used. I then stopped the transmission-daemon, changed the path in settings.json, restarted the daemon, checked the settings (just in case), everything is fine on paper except I get "Error: Permission denied" once the torrent finishes downloading.
What more can I do to make it work in another directory ?
How do you download to another directory?
Re: How do you download to another directory?
Strange, the 777 permissions should be enough. Perhaps the content within that directory needs some investigation or maybe a post-torrent script has bad permissions.
Re: How do you download to another directory?
Did you change location in the "transmission" file, in the rc.d folder
/mnt/HomeRaid/Plugins/pbi/transmission-amd64/etc/rc.d
/mnt/HomeRaid/Plugins/pbi/transmission-amd64/etc/rc.d
