Syntax for block list in GUI

Post by amr421 »

Looking for some help in the format for the URL in the GUI block list configuration feature. This is using Transmission

I have set the block list URL = http://list.iblocklist.com/?list=bt_lev ... eformat=gz

But when I click Update the button changes to Updating... but then nothing else happens and block list stays at 0 rules.

GUI looks like this (it's Linux Transmission v2.77 (14031) running on a Lenovo NAS)

Any ideas welcome!

Thanks,

Could not find the compressed file, however blocklists folder contained:

-rw-rw-r-- 1 root root 1822808 May 21 18:33 blocklist.bin

But GUI still shows 'Blocklist has 0 rules'

Seems that using the GUI method, or manual download and gunzip successfully creates a bin file in the blocklists folder. Just the GUI always <incorrectly> states 'Blocklist has 0 rules.' ...

Yes:

root 4512 2617 0 May24 ? 00:00:00 /mnt/system/opt/apps/lenovoemc/Transmission Transmission
root 4514 4512 0 May24 ? 00:04:06 /opt/apps/lenovoemc/Transmission/transmission-daemon --foreground --config-dir /opt/apps/lenovoemc/Transmission --pid-file /var/run/transmission.pid

I think I'm resigned to the fact that the GUI is just wrong...

root@NetHD1:/# man transmission-daemon
No manual entry for transmission-daemon

So that must be Fiction! :)

GUI reports (as the screenshot shows at the top of this post) "Blocklist has 0 rules."

So the GUI is also MAYBE fiction - until someone can tell me how to check that the blocklist that has been created in the /opt/apps/lenovoemc/Transmission/blocklists/filename.bin file is actually working!
