I have transitioned my desktop from my everyday device to primarirly my media server.
For some time I still had my monitor connected to it even though it just sat their collecting dust. I recently moved it and have been using it fine without attaching the monitor, until I went to add a new torrent via the web client tonight. I tried to log in via web like always, and nothing was there. I'm assuming that the last time I rebooted the server transimssion didn't start. I have attempted to start via SSH but can't seem to find the right command that will start a transmission session and allow use of the web client.
Can someone point me in the right direction?
Do I have to have a monitor attached in order to use web interface?

depending on what os you use, in debian you run
/etc/init.d/transmission start
sometimes its called transmission-daemon
/etc/init.d/transmission start
sometimes its called transmission-daemon
