Cannot upload torrents from https: all of a sudden

Post by oshunluvr »

I've been using Transmission for 4-5 years on Ubuntu server. headless, first 12.04, now 14.04. Two years on current install, no changes made to settings.json since initial upgrade to 14.04. Transmission is up-to-date and kept that way using the PPA for Ubuntu. Current package versions installed are 2.92-0ubuntu0.15.04.1

I have had no problems using Transmission via the WebUI until today. I use Transmission every couple of weeks to download various torrents. Today, I attempted to cut-n-paste a URL as I usually do. However, I now get this response:
server:9091 says:

Error adding "https://<URL HERE>":
gotMetadataFromURL: http error 0: No Response
It appears to be redirecting https to http and then failing?

http sourced torrents upload just fine.

Hi .
Major issues with Transmission. Can't seed - can't upload -- very frustrating. It has come to the point that I can't download anything because I can't seed/upload... can't find anything in the forums to help out either... downloading is fine -- seeding is at 0Kb... what's up with that? Running latest transmission on my mac help someone -- what can I do to change this situation?
Thanks, bestazy
