Transmission-daemon auto-resets webui username/pass

Post by swraman »

I am runing transmission-daemon on Ubuntu 9.04.

So I want to change the webui username/pass AND the download dir. So i edit the settings.json file in /etc/transmission-daemon/

But then when I restart the service (service transmission-daemon restart OR killall transmission-daemon; transmission-daemon) it resets the username and password to "transmission" and resets the download DIR to its default location.

It doesnt rewrites all settings in settings.json to their default. I changed the rpc-whitelist-enable option from its default and restarted the server, and the change remained after restarting the service.

Any help appreciated.

EDIT: N/m, i didnt rialize that t-d rewrites settings every time it closes.

It works now after editing the settings file while the daemon was off.
