Use WebUI as a protocol handler?

Post by rmenessec »

I think I've done all reasonable due diligence with search engines and forum search:

Is it possible to register WebUI as a handler for .torrent and magnet links? I'd prefer the elegance of simply clicking a link and being assured that the daemon's picked up all the necessary info.

If you use Firefox you can use this plugin http://www.alexisbrunet.com/firefox it automatically uploads the clicked torrents to Transmission. The plugin also works with private Trackers (ALT).

I appreciate the pointer, but I'd really appreciate a little JS snippet I can execute to add WebUI to the services list. Or even strings to kludge into prefs.js or a:c. So long as the end result is elegant and doesn't mean I have to add to my teetering stack of extensions.
