Location of logfile for transmission-gtk

Post by perdrix »

I modified /home/user/.config/transmission/settings.json to set

"message-level": 3,

to try to debug a port problem. Trouble is I can't find the log file. I looked in /var/log and there was nothing there.

If it's relevant I'm running transmission 2.82 on Ubuntu Server LTS 14.04.4 (Trusty Tahr).

Thanks
Dave

You can search for Transmission.log or sys.log or just run the daemon with --logfile path. Why not ask Ubuntu where they put it?

Erm I'm not running the daemon - I'm running transmission.gtk - and I assume that as YOU write the code, that YOU know where you put the logfile.

GUI clients don't write logs to file. With GTK+ client, select Help -> Message Log from main menu.

Oops! Meant to say 'Ask Mikey'. :?

And most of the code I write gets rejected anyway. :cry:
