Running transmission on a read-only filesystem

Post by catdotgif »

Hi, I'm running Transmission on a Raspberry Pi. I am running the Pi with a read-only filesystem for the sake of long-term reliability. I have transmission downloading to an external USB drive-- one folder for in-progress torrents, another folder for completed torrents.

So all this works fine. But when the power cuts out transmission loses any current torrent tasks and reverts to the torrent task(s) that were previously running the last time the filesystem was set to read-only.

My question is, can I configure transmission to store it's in-progress task information on my external USB drive, so it doesn't get wiped when the system reboots?

I looked in settings.json but didn't see anything like that, not sure where else to look.

Thank you for this great little piece of software!
