disabling µTP helped! thx.

had the same problem. T was opening about 1900 connections. after disabling µTP it came down to less than 800. my connection limits were 140 max global and 20 for new.

I just changed to "BitTorrent" after using "Transmission" for a long time - but since "Lion", I experience the same problem every time "Transmission" is running: any other connection via any Browser or network app is somehow blocked. And still, there's this "no/erroneous client listening or misconfigured router" error on "dimeadozen.org". All these errors are gone with "BitTorrent" - and I'm using the same port number and manual configuration to open ports on my Mac and "Fritz!Box". I like "Transmission" for its possibilities and look, but something should be done here...
