Hi,
I'm using Transmission v 1.72 on Fedora 11.
Everything is working perfectly, except that after starting a new torrent, the application becomes unresponsive for 10-20 seconds. It won't respond to input, nor redraw the window. After that it picks up, and carries on normally.
Is this expected behaviour?
Thanks,
Palooka

This shouldn't be an issue in the current release.

Indeed, update to 1.75 and this should be fixed. No problems on anything here.
Re: Transmission becomes unresponsive after starting new torrent
As a general rule I tend to stick with whatever version of a given package is in my distribution's repository.
The good news is that I am now on Fedora 12 (beta) so the current Transmission version is 1.76. Indeed the issue has gone away.
Many thanks for such a great product, Mitchell and all developers/contributors.
Cheers,
Palooka

Re: Transmission becomes unresponsive after starting new torrent
I was going to write a bug report about it until I found this forum post. I'm also running Fedora 11 which, even for a historically cutting edge distro., uses an older version, 1.72.
I'm pleased to know that the issue has been remedied as it really did hang for a good 5 minutes or so, especially when adding large file size torrents.
