It's really getting to the point where I have to dump Transmission. Prior to v1.4, it was a great app - rock solid, capable of handling everything I threw at it. Since 1.4, it's been almost unusable - and each version is getting worse.
Currently:
v1.5.1
OSX 10.5.6
Hardware:
MacBook Core Duo (first generation MacBook) 2.0
2 GB memory
The problem:
It hard crashes the ENTIRE system. Which shouldn't even really be possible, but somehow it happens. I can't guarantee this, but I think it happens only when speed limiting is going on. I don't just mean speed limit mode, but any limiting. The first thing you notice when it starts happening is that you notice the download/upload speeds aren't changing any longer. Then you try to click on it to un-minimize it, and nothing happens. Then you notice that you can't use the menubar in the finder (or any other app), nor can you force quit. Then the whole finder freezes up. Adium also tends to freeze up early on.
You might still be able to use other apps, as long as you don't need to use the menu bar, but there's no way you can force quit anything. After the menu bar freezes, it won't even bring up the force quit menu. Before the menu bar freezes, force quit just won't force quit Transmission.
Every time a new version comes out I pray it will work better, but at best it's the same, sometimes worse.
I don't mean to be down on Transmission or anything, but I'm at the end of my rope. Am I the only one experiencing this?
