How do I set up a VPN tunnel for torrenting?

Equinux, DigiTunnel, or Cisco might be good software, there are so many of them.
What is the easiest way of setting up a VPN for torrenting?

One person tells me I need the software, another person tells me all I have to do is use Firewall or
set the PPTP connection in the Internet Connect part of System Preferences, (I'm using Mac OSX 10.4.11)
it's asking for a server address, account name, and password.

Advice on how to setup (and use) a VPN on a Mac? Please Help!
