Good job!

I see the Web client is now behaving... no more high CPU usage on the browser. Nice.

Is there a plan to add the ratio limits to the options on the Web client? What about showing the ratio limit info on the torrent detail? (i.e. transmission-remote -t # -i should show if the torrent has a limit set, either global or specific or no limit).

We hope for the web client to be rewritten from scratch sooner or later.

Thanks for this update.

Unfortunately Transfer Prioritization doesn't seem to work quite as I would have hoped, at least during seeding. I have one particular torrent that I'd like to seed only if there's insufficient activity on the others to consume the upload rate I've specified. Prior to making this torrent "low priority" it used the full 40 kB/s I had specified as a global limit, after changing it to low priority, it drops to about 37.5! (If I pause it there is more than enough activity on my other torrents to use the full 40k.)

This would be a great new feature if it worked the way I expected.

RogerWilco: Determining how much bandwidth each transfer would use with the current peers is extremely tricky - it is not really possible to be exact.

I just saw something weird with this version:

After a torrent finished downloading ... it kept showing some downloading on and off for a while (at least 10 minutes). I know this could happen if some pieces don't check, they are re-downloaded, but both the Web client and transmission-remote showed that the whole torrent was verified.

Proof:

Code: Select all

$ transmission-remote -n usr:pass -t 4 -i
NAME
  Id: 4
  Name: Whatever
  Hash: bd4a70134193ec9e1e970aec9929c63cb5b24a4e

TRANSFER

Is this just tracker updating noise? Is just something "new" that before was not showed?

After a while it stopped. I don't know how long it went, or how much was really downloaded (my transmission-remote testing didn't show any change on the downloaded amount).

A bug I reported with 1.60b1 and still is in 1.60:

Adding a torrent to the Web client using the URL loads that torrent as paused (when the setting is to start downloading immediately). One thing I have observed is that this happens 9 out of 10 times, so 10% works as expected -- this is with both versions, beta and release, more testing done with beta but it seems nothing changed.

Great Job guys. Still really really wanting an option to auto-remove the completed torrent from the list. Maybe next time

Same problem here with the torrents not starting. Using the web interface the download doesn't start automatically. This only happens when using the URL. If i save the torrent and upload it, the download starts. Didn't have this problem with the previous transmission. Any help would be appreciated.

First I thought Transmission would work perfectly. I realize that OSX gets extremely unstable because of the latest version, Router Disconnects and complete Block sometimes without possibility to connect even to router. Then i have to turn off my Imac with the poer button as it hangs completely no new Programms can be opened. If I take out Transmission from the autostart all works fine.

I can fully confirm that observation. I ran Transmission 1.60 on my Intel Core Duo IMac under Leopard and the whole System became unstable and froze. I had do shut down the system with a hard reset. With Transmission 1.52 i had absolutely no problem.
