Transmission 1.74 Mac OS 10.5.8 Lost Seeds

Post by docder »

Hi,

I know I am an idiot. After downloading Beta version and seeing most of my seeds becoming greyed out I reverted to 1.73 an deverything thing was Ok again, all seeding files returned to green. But then went and installed 1.74 and, lo, seeding files, all gone grey again. Even reloading them does not return them to active seeds. So has something drastically changed in Transmission?. This is the first fault I have encountered using Transmission for several months. Is 1.73 available somewhere? Seems to have disappeared from where it was.

Anyone else got this problem?

best

I got similar problem. After erasing ~/Library/Caches/Transmission, it seems to be working fine.

Thanks for tips. If I trash those items will I loose all my links to files and my ratio information, etc. Would it mean I would need to reload, even download all files again?

Trashing Caches/Transmission won't do any harm to you. But, trashing ~/Library/Application Support/Transmission will clear download information of the files currently being downloaded and/or seeded. Also, your preference settings will be lost if you trash ~/Library/Preferences/org.m0k.transmission.plist.

I recommend you to make a backup of ~/Library/Application Support/Transmission, ~/Library/Preferences/org.m0k.transmission.plist, and the files being transfered before trying these tips.

Thanks again, but trashing cache is not working for me. When I reopen Transmission 1.74 I just end up back with lots of grey, no green. New files seem to be downloading ok but all my seeds keep reverting to pause or I get that most irritating of messages - tracker returned an error, not authorised, too many seedings pairs by this account, max = 10. What does that message mean? Which account is it referring to, mine or the one being seeded to? I don't have seeding pairs set at a limit of 10 in my preferences. Perhaps this problem will go away with 10.6 later in the week. Transmission has always been good for me but I seem to have lost the control I had over it.

I relaunched Transmission and after a while hit 'resume all transfers'. Seeding now appears to be stable again. Fingers crossed.

thanks and best

Okay. I still have the same problem. 1.74 reports "Tracker returned an error" for the files that are migrated from 1.73. The files newly added after upgrading to 1.74 seem to be fine.

I erased all settings (Application Support, Caches, Preferences), but had no luck. 1.74 still looses seeds. It stops transmission saying "Tracker returned an error." uTorrent for Mac works fine with the same torrents.
