Global Bandwidth Settings; turning on arbitrarily.

Post by epperley »

I'm using Transmission 1.73 on a MacBook Pro running 10.5.8.
I never use global bandwidth limits, but since I upgraded to 1.73 they have been turning themselves on randomly.
They usually go to 42 KB/s but now the number is random - but always low. I'll come home after a day of working to find that things haven't finished downloading / uploading because these settings just keep turning themselves on.
So I tried turning on the global bandwidth limit but setting it really high. But it just changes by itself.

Is anyone else experiencing this or does anyone have any idea what could be causing it?
It's terribly frustrating.

I have no idea if this is exactly what's going on with me, too, but it could very well be.

I just updated to 10.5.8. I'm running a 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel.

Transmission was running fine before I updated to 1.74. No problems, no complaints. Once I update, suddenly my upload rate is capped at 10 KB. No idea why. I checked all global settings, looked everywhere I could think of. No sign of anything new or different under Transmission Preferences.

As a last resort before moving on to troubleshoot some new port behavior on 10.5.8, I tried an earlier version or Transmission (1.34). Sure enough, it works just fine. I'm uploading at 70 – 80 KB now. Nothing changed on my computer besides downgrading versions.

Very frustrating. I hope this gets fixed.... I'll be waiting.
