[Snow Leopard] Transmission Doesn't Start Downloading

Hi ('hope this is the correct forum..),
I've updated Snow Leopard on my Mac, and installed Transmission for Mac OS-X (1.74 (8993)).

In the Preferences of Transmission, the green light shows the port as 'open'. The Mac OS-X firewall is disactivated.

But although there are two downloads waiting, nothing happens. No error message, but just stony-faced silence from Transmission.

Are there any diagnostics I can run to maybe find out what's the problem?

I had the same problem. The current beta download seems to work great. Suggest you try it.
