No response from tracker

Post by Toffynut »

Hi,
My transmission has been acting out lately. The problem is that no matter what I try I never get any response from my trackers. I've tried other torrent clients and they see to get response without any problem.(I wonder what will happen if I write response one more time:P)
I'm running transmission 1.54 on a mac OSX 10.4.11, everything fully updated.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No problem with the tracker, it's been like this for over a week. Like I said I have no problem downloading with other clients, and the tracker actually recommends Transmission, so no luck there. Does anyone else have an idea?

Okay people lets all of us keep this on one thread Wink

I am having the same problem with all torrents at the moment, both uploading and downloading. It looks like the tracker may have gone down.

Lets all hope that the operators are just updating something. Give them some time to fix things okay. Hopefully we'll get a response here soon Sad

Interesting. I seem to have a related problem.
Since the issue before 1.75, I have seen a lot of "Announce failed: tracker did not respond." situations.
Before this, I had never seen that message.
The tricky thing is: sometimes Transmission goes ahead and runs fine (downloads) anyway. Sometimes it doesn't.
It first happened the day that 1.75 became available. I downloaded 1.75 and Transmission started up again on that specific file, so I thought it was solved. Nope.

Since I've seen this on certain torrents for 3 weeks, I don't think it is "operators updating something".
It seems to be torrent specific (maybe tracker specific?) - always get the message with a given torrent file, though, like I said, sometimes it just goes ahead.
Transmission 1.75 (9112) and OS 10.6.1.
