Transmission Crashed and Wont Load Anymore

hey guys, my tranmission crashed a while back when i left my mac on overnight to seed and download some torrents i had. i tried reloading the program but it would only bounce on the dock for a good minute and then go away. i havent gotten any crash reports since then, so i dont know whats going on. i uninstalled transmission, removed the files from the HD, and reinstalled both the 1.75 stable and the nightly build but still no solutions.

Can you post a crash log from the nightly build?

like i said before, my transmission doesnt produce any more crash logs after the first time. even with nightly build, when i click on transmission the icon would just bounce on the dock for a while and then go away. i dont get a notification or anything. i checked the logs in my console and only one log exists from the first time, which i have posted in my previous post.

if there is another way to produce a log though, please let me know.

Also, try running Transmission from a new user account.

If you are running Leopard, just activate the Guest Account, and check Allow guests to log in to this computer. In that way you won't have to complicate yourself having to delete the user when you are done.

This is in System Preferences > Accounts > Guest Account > √ Allow guests to log in to this computer.

hey guys, my tranmission crashed a while back when i left my mac on overnight to seed and download some torrents i had. i tried reloading the program but it would only bounce on the dock for a good minute and then go away. i havent gotten any crash reports since then, so i dont know whats going on. i uninstalled transmission, removed the files from the HD, and reinstalled both the 1.75 stable and the nightly build but still no solutions.

By the way, I'm not sure if you got confused with what livings124 said the second time: he's wasn't asking you to post a new crash log (as the one you just did), he was asking you to check Console Messages in the Console Application. There's probably a lot of things if you check, so just filter at the right by writing Transmission.

#1 Run Disk Utility to rule out permissions and filesystem problems.

#2 Try deleting Transmission's support, preference, and cache files.

This is just a guess on my part, but could there be a conflict between 32 and 64 bit code? Can you change this in the 'Get Info' window?

Okay, just did a forum search and I think this is your fix. Use 32 bit mode (see Get Info window).
