So, I was downloading some stuff in Transmission (version 1.54, OS X 10.4.11) to my external HD, when I decided I was going to reboot my machine. I quit Transmission (seemed to take an awfully long time to shut down) and rebooted my machine without ejecting the HDD (I forgot to do it.)
Now whenever I turn on the drive, it fails to mount. It doesn't grind away or make any kind of noise. It just doesn't mount. I've tried mounting the drive on my laptop, and it works just fine. I'm thinking Transmission screwed up some kind of system file or something. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I've tried looking for the drive in the Disk Utility, but it doesn't show up. I've also tried repairing disk permissions and even unplugging/disconnecting the drive from the computer. I'm stumped, especially since it works on my laptop.
