Too much extra data download

I am downloading a file which is only 175mb and transmission has already downloaded over 700mb for that file. The same problem occurs with other files as well, but not with such drastic differences.


I am using transmission 1.76+ (9570) with snow leopard

It is possible you keep getting corrupt pieces for some reason. I would suggest trying to get the file from another source if possible.

It is a problem with almost all torrents; they download a bit more info. When i tried the same torrent on a windows machine, it did not download that much.

I am getting the same problem, with the same setup. Transmission-1.76+Z-svn-r9715, and OSX 10.6.2.

downloaded around 2.7GB, only had around 500MB of verified data..... no Failed data either?

I just dropped back to 1.76, and everything worked as it should....

this bug is still in Transmission-1.76+Z-svn-r9719

it should also be noted that ~95% of all verified data is discarded when downgrading.
there were no error logs

This seems to be fixed in the latest nightlies.....

I just tried r9794, and while it is definitely better, there is still unaccounted-for data.
for a very small file:

9.16MB torrent

9.27MB d/led
have: 9.16MB

Failed: 0MB

Ive tested this more, d/l a 1.37GB file only had 5MB unaccounted for.

Glad to hear something's working.

1.80 is getting there, but I wish it would get there faster... there are a lot of changes under the hood this time; we were actually getting ready to freeze for 1.80 when all this magnet link brouhaha kicked up and we extended the development cycle by another month.
