I wonder if the Transmission team can do anything about this: Whenever I start up Transmission, there is a pop-up window asking for access permission allowing incoming network connections. Port-forwarding seems to be o.k.. It seems to be related to the Apple firewall which I have set to allow "access for specific services and applications". Transmission is set to allow all incoming connections.
Is there anything I can do in the configuration file so that Transmission won't ask for access permission every time or is this completely related to the Apple firewall? I fear it is so as utorrent behaves just the same. I just find it rather annoying but do not want to give up the firewall completely.

I have a potential solution.
I have heard that this is (or was) a known issue with the firewall setup in OSX 10.5. It seems that when the firewall notices an *un-digitally-signed* program trying to bind itself to a port and listen, that it asks the user whether or not to allow the program to do so. It then adds it to the firewall list of allowed programs, but it seems to FORGET to digitally sign the program. Therefore, when the application/program starts again, it still seems digitally unsigned to the firewall.
The way I got around it was by going to System Preferences->Personal->Security->Firewall, and removing Transmission from the list, then re-adding it with the "+". When you do this manually, it DOES seem to know to digitally sign the application, and thus remember the next time you start the program that you said to allow connections before.
I can't guarantee that it it will work for others, but it's easy to try, and therefore worth a shot.

All I can say is that on Snow Leopard (10.6) it all works fine. So it is definitively not an issue with Transmission but Apple Firewall.
