Yes, they should. As I said, I completely understand that a protocol cannot stay the same while the software is evolving.

That's a good point. I'm gonna make it backward incompatible for version <1.52 when there are 1.52 debian packages avaible. At least I should be able to use my own scripts. (:

I'm sorry we had to rush 1.61 out without giving everyone a heads-up, but we were basically given the choice of either rushing the release out, or having a security advisory out on Transmission with no public release to fix the advisory.
