Greetings to all.
This is more of a followup on the "slow death bug" that Transmission used to cause on 10.5/10.6. That thread hasn't been updated in a while and I am unsure if this issue was resolved or not.
I'm aware that there were fixes posted that involve editing /etc/sysctl.conf, but frankly I'm not interested in editing core configuration files for my entire system. Not when everything else works just fine (including uTorrent). And I'm completely aware that the hard-hang behaviour is probably a result of some stupid bug in XNU that Apple is stubbornly refusing to fix, but as an end user it ultimately doesn't matter to me. I'm going to use whatever is stable and whatever works.
So, while I don't mind using uTorrent- Transmission still has a better feature set over even the latest betas of uTorrent. And I would love to come back- but not at the price of my system's continued and reliable stability. I can't seem to find anything in Trac that would suggest this bug was even considered an issue, and if it was resolved in 1.80 or not.
So- has this problem finally been rectified? I know I could probably download it and find out for myself, but if the bomb hasn't been diffused- I'd rather not poke at it and risk another kernel hang.

Has 1.80 fixed the slow death bug?
Re: Has 1.80 fixed the slow death bug?
There have been quite a few commits that should ameliorate the Slow Death bug, but since none of the developers have ever experienced the bug firsthand, the only way we'll know for sure is for users to test it out and let us know...

1.80 did not fix the slow death bug. I upgraded yesterday and woke up this morning and my system was frozen just like normal (=
